Stop Shrinking Back



God impressed on my heart that the only reason you have felt the need to shrink back comes from being surrounded by the wrong people. Many convince themselves that hiding their accomplishments shows humility, and many believe dimming their light somehow pleases God, yet shrinking never reflects humility, it reflects a misunderstanding of who we are in Christ.

For years I thought stepping back or downplaying what God was doing in my life made me humble, but the Spirit revealed that shrinking never equals humility. True humility comes when you give God the glory while walking confidently and unapologetically in the identity He has placed upon your life.

Some people feel uncomfortable when you live in your full identity, because your obedience to Christ exposes their complacency. Your rising demands that they rise, and your light challenges them to step out of darkness. Instead of allowing this holy tension to move them forward, many prefer that you remain small so they never need to change.

God never called you to shrink. God called you to shine. The Word declares, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) Walking in boldness never equals arrogance; walking in boldness reveals obedience. When you embrace your God-given identity, you become a living testimony of His power and His purpose.

So stop shrinking back, stop apologizing for being chosen, and stop confusing obedience with pride. You were never created to hide, you were created to stand as a light in a world desperate for the truth of Christ.

As one month closes and another begins, I find myself reminded that endings are never wasted. The turning of a calendar is more than a date, it’s an invitation to pause, reflect, and prepare for what’s next. We often underestimate the power of transitions. True Friendship Is Hard to Find

The older I get, the more I see how rare real friendship actually is. Not the type where people check in here and there, or show up when it’s convenient, or only stay close as long as they feel comfortable. I mean the kind of friendship that feels steady… the kind that feels safe… the kind where you don’t have to wonder if someone is secretly competing with you or comparing their life to yours.
